Oh Rain, Oh Rain
Won’t You Stay A While?
Recent months have brought numerous rain showers and thunderstorms which have been a welcomed refreshment! Last year was a intolerably dry and our sugar cane endured most of the Summer in constant thirst. As a tropical grass, sugar cane prefers more water rather than less, and the weather thus far has enhanced the growth of the cane. Taller and thicker cane come harvest time will yield a greater amount of syrup, which means a greater amount of rum…this is splendid news for anyone who enjoys the artisanal qualities of our single-barrel aged rum. Although we do not wish rain upon anyone whose plans require a dry setting, we do hope Mother Nature continues to provide the Richland farmlands with liquid nourishment throughout the 2017 growing season!

What a nice treat to see your newsletter in my email. I was reading all the new updates to my husband as we were riding home from our morning run. I hope we can stop by for a visit in September on our was to Chattanooga Ironman. Have a blessed day. Lucinda
